Demon Slayer

Despite being released in just twelve territories, Demon Slayer: Infinity Train grossed $ 400 million, bypassing Tenet and officially becoming the fourth most prolific film of 2020. Aniplex recently announced that the film will arrive in North America (USA & Canada) on the 23rd. April, and aims to surpass The Eight Hundred's $ 461 million mark.

At the bottom of the news you will find the link to access the official Boxofficemojo data, which however have not yet been updated after the launch in Australia. The site reports a total proceeds of 369 million dollars, enough to exceed 363 million Tenet but still close to thirty million, obtained in recent months between Oceania, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan.

For the time being, the film has still grossed less than My People, My Homeland ($ 422 million), Bad Boys for Life ($ 426 million) and the aforementioned The Eight Hundred ($ 461 million), but considering that the film has not yet debuted in the US , in China and Europe the opposite would be strange. Demon Slayer: Infinity Train could therefore become the most watched and highest grossing film of 2020, provided that Covid does not force some countries to cancel the screening in cinemas.

In North America, the feature film premiered in Florida to allow for nomination for the 2021 Academy Awards, and sold out in just under an hour. Now the film is ready to return to theaters in both subtitled and English dubbing versions, before officially arriving on home video on June 16th.
